for the record, I was at Starbucks the other day and ordered my pumpkin spice latte; apparently, with Thanksgiving comes an end to the pumpkin spice, at least in my neck of the woods. Oh, the bother of it all.

Found your blog just today through Deborah Ann at Heavenly Humor... and yes it was your giveaway button on her sidebar that grabbed me. Mostly because I saw the book "Jesus Calling" and I had to pop in to tell all ya'll how much I really love that book! It is awesome! So, I would love to be entered, and if I win, will graciously give the book to someone in my life who doesn't own it yet.
God Bless and Merry Christmas!!

Contest Entry:
For years, I have sat at my kitchen table, sometimes 3, 4 o'clock in the morning, having coffee with the Trinity. I invite Father God to sit across from me, Jesus to my left (the right of the Father, where He is seated in heaven!) and the Holy Spirit to my right (where He also sits in the passenger seat of my car). My kitchen table is my altar. It is there I praise, petition, intercede and thank my God. All life's answers are found here. I pour out my heart, consecrete my life, surrender my issues, ask my questions and receive my Answers as the Holy Spirit directs me in the Word. I think the coffee part makes it less formal, for, after all, Jesus paid the price for me to come boldly before the Throne. All I need is a cup of coffee and the other requirement -- at least one (1) tissue! When I first started doing this, it was very formal and ritualistic. Now, I am comfortable just to sit and "tawk." (I'm from Brooklyn and that's how we say it!) I've learned I can just be myself, His daughter, in these times, for He knows my inward parts. David the Psalmist instructed us to seek the Lord in the morning. Proverbs 31 also says I rise while it is yet night and provide "food" for my household. I found, also, that, if I don't have this "one hour" of time with God, my whole day is messed up! I hate disappointing Him because, by now, He waits for me to come. I can actually feel His anticipation as I pray in tongues or sing the worship song the Holy Spirit wakes me up with as I go potty, turn the coffee pot on and fix my coffee. Of course, I receive the Word from church, Pastor's sermons, friends, TV, etc., but there's nothing like hearing God's Voice and receiving directly from God at my kitchen table over a cup of coffee!

Ladies, just so you know, Jackie Gilbert is my spiritual mom. She has been there for me, counseled me in wisdom, with love and sincerity, and has blessed my life abundantly. She's a Gift from God to me, a Mighty Woman of God and her life bears Fruit. Uhhh, she's also very fair, so, if I win the contest, it will be fair and square, on the merits of my entry and not because there's any favoritism . . . . (Jackie, I want the journal prize!)

In unity of the Holy Spirit, I send my love to my fellow Sisters in the Lord,

jay
