Calling us into His Powerful Stillness!

It began earlier this week.  A restlessness within my heart.  A yearning is the only way to describe the stirring deep within my soul.  A longing to steal away from the noise and clamor of this journey called everyday life.  "Life"......filled with ups and downs, laughter and tears, joy, heartache and uncertainties.  Images of the devastation in Haiti stirring such profound indescribable emotions within my soul.  Precious fellow bloggers facing catastrophic health issues which my mind cannot grasp but my heart gladly joins in faith with them and others as we stand together upon the Promises of God!!  News of a friend's devastating deep loss....a young mother with a new baby and two young children who's husband was instantaneously killed in a car accident ~ Her life forever changed.  Families in crisis and the tragedy of the death of a child.  A nation who's at the hour of decision.....a nation that has fallen asleep and flirts with terrorism, godlessness and abortion in the name of equal rights, political correctness and choice.....a nation that was founded upon the one true and living God and His Word....Arise and wake-up America!!

These things.....very real things, have been heavy upon my heart this week.  Prayer and intercession and seeking His face on behalf of these weighty issues, needs and heartaches has been deeply imprinted upon my heart as I humbly count it an honor to stand in the gap.  But, I must honestly say that my heart yearned to soar into His Presence away from the trauma, tragedies and heartache.  I must steal away!!  I must steal away!

And then, there was this afternoon - as I entered into His Presence through praise and worship and His Word, I experienced such an outpouring of His Love, Compassion, Mercy and Grace anew and afresh deep within!!  Love spoke to my heart this afternoon......"Be Still and Know!  Be Still and Know!".  Stillness and knowing - that holy place before Him filled with an outflow of worship and adoration from our heart.   Stillness is defined as deep silence and calm.  The depths of His Heart longs to minister to the depths of our heart cries and the life issues of His beloved children.  He patiently awaits our entrance into His Presence, where we linger in stillness, listening and looking to Him. To know Him is that powerful place of heart to heart intimacy with the King! Allowing Him to reveal Himself as the Lover of our souls, Mighty God, Deliverer, Healer, Defender, Way Maker, Mighty Fortress and Rock, Faithful One!   Weariness is replaced with strength, comfort and hope.  And dreams rekindled as He breathes upon our hearts as we rest in that place of stillness and knowing.  "Be Still and Know"!

His Heart is beckoning us into His Powerful Stillness!!  It's within the veil of His Heart that He longs to minister encouragement, fresh focus and insight, divine wisdom for decisions that we are facing, divine direction as we journey the paths ahead, and a divine infusion of hope!  "Be Still and Know"!

As I sat still in His Presence, my restless unsettled heart was transformed into stillness and calm as if a Holy Balm flowed from His Heart into mine.  He knew that the burdens and heartaches that were pressing upon my heart needed to be laid fully upon His strong shoulders. And oh, what joy and blessed relief to do so!  What a wonderful, precious, burden removing, yoke destroying, Mighty God we serve.  There is no one like our God!!!

I know those precious words from heaven, "Be Still and Know", were not just to encourage and minister to the restless, yearning cry of my heart only, but to share also with you my precious bloggy friends.  The praise and worship song that came to mind this afternoon and so ministers to my heart and emotions is "Be Still and Know" by Steven Curtis Chapman.  I played this song in worship all afternoon.  The lyrics are what ushered me into His Presence and touched my heart so deeply.  They perfectly express everything the Lord spoke to my heart, so I'm led to share them with you now.  Also below is an anointed video of "Be Still and Know".  I realize that everyone is pressed for time, but I lovingly plead with you to take three of so minutes to "Be Still" and allow Him to minister to your heart today......He's calling you into the Secret Place away from the noise and clamor......."Be Still and Know".....

Be Still and Know
by Steven Curtis Chapman

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is Holy
Be still oh restless soul of mine
Bow before the Prince of Peace
Let the noise and clamor cease

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is Faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
And know that He will never change
Be still

Be still and know that He is God
Be still
Be Speechless

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know He is our Father
Come rest your head upon His breast
Listen to the rhythm of
His unfailing heart of Love
Beating for His little ones
Calling each of us to come
Be still
Be Still

Praying that as you be still before your King, your heart would be encouraged and peace flood your soul.  You are His prescious child.....He's waiting....He's calling.......

Sweet Blessings!

This is good! Life get so busy sometimes that I say I don't have time to study His Word or Praise Him. But I need to listen to His call to Be Still! Love this reminder!

You are just so amazing! I love you. Thank you for filling my heart this afternoon and for causing me to be still...be still. I needed to rest and reading your heart here in words gave me rest just as He gives me rest in His Word.

Yes, be still...

Love you,

If we can sit in front of the computer for hours, then there is no excuse not to spend time with the Lord. This week, that's what I've been hearing in my heart "be still...I am your God..." "I am your Father.." He is God, the Almighty, yet He longs to be sought by His children for He has nothing but love...It's not easy sister to be so still...It takes discipline...And I heard Him added "renew your minds..."

To God be the glory! Our dearest Father in heaven. Praise His Holy Name! Have a great weekend to you sister and God bless and keep you always.

Dear JAckie,
I made several attempts to read your post... and finally this morning I was able to read it all...I didn't want to read it hurriedly, that's why. I'll go back to listen to the song, just wanted to comment first.

Want to tell you this post really touched my heart. Psalm 46 has always been a favorite passage of mine, and just the other day, Katie of Hope is Calling blog wrote a lovely post about that passage too!

So, I get the picture. Yesterday, my blog post was about being still before God, resting in HIs love as He fights our battles for us, and yes, your blog cements the message that God is speaking to my heart these days!

Love your beautiful heart.

Love
Lidj

Thank you Jackie...I took 3:57 minutes to Be Still and Know that He is God! My Mother used to always tell me the same!
I felt a smile creep onto my face.
Girl..you lift me up!
Thank you again.
Love,
Julie

Thank you for writing such encouraging words. You have truly expressed what my heart has been feeling. Last year I posted an entry where I too felt that I needed to steal away. You have truly given me strength today as I ask the Holy Spirit for a reminder for me to just Be Still and Know!!!!

Jackie, Some weeks back I had a similar experience of feeling so overwhelmed by so many situations swirling around about me and also in the news. Many prayer requests were coming in, very very serious ones from people I was connected with in one way or another. It was physically draining to me just to pray for all of these things. We do need to steal away and remember that only Jesus can carry all these burdens. We can gather them up and then lay them at His feet, resting in the assurance that He has so much more love and compassion than we could ever have, plus the power to act as it pleases Him. I think that's why He tells us to be "still"...beautiful post from a beautiful lady, inside and out! Thank you!
