The Sweet Voice of God.......

Hey ya'll!

Don't you just love it when you're just going about your day and the Lord interrupts and shows you something or speaks a word that lifts your heart.....a word that is perfectly seasoned!  That happened to me yesterday as I took a moment to glance through an old devotional poetry book that I recently bought at one of my fav thrift stores.    This particular poem is nothing profound or spiritually "deep" but simply encourages us to be looking and listening for the sweet voice of God.   The sweet voice of God.....I love just saying those words!  Oh how amazing it is that the One who created heaven and earth, set the stars in their constellations, set the sun and moon into orbit and told them when to shine and holds it all in the palm of His hands, SPEAKS to you and me!  My heart cries unto His heart.....Yes, Lord, I'm listening, I'm watching, I'm drawing closer to your heart and listening for the whispers of your sweet voice, oh God!

The poem is by Kay Hoffman and the book is Treasures of the Heart.  I added some images that I love and hope they bless you and speak to your heart as well.........

"I Hear God's Voice"

I hear God's voice in gentle wind
That whispers through the trees
And in the crunch, rustling sound
of Autumn's fallen leaves.

In each lilting birdsong ringing,
The cooing of a dove,
In the murmur of a peaceful stream
He tells me of His love.

I hear God's voice when thunder rolls
And in the ocean's roar,
The little waves that gently lap
Along the sandy shore.

In the laughter of little children
Playing in places near
And in each kind word spoken
His voice to me so dear.

When the future path looks dark
And my heart is filled with fear,
It's then I hear Him gently say,
"Be still and know I'm near."

God speaks to me in countless ways
No matter where I trod,
And when I humbly kneel in prayer,
How sweet the voice of God!
                                                                         by Kay Hoffman

The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is full of majesty!
Psalm 29:4 amp (emphasis mine)

May you have an abundantly blessed week and be looking and listening for the sweet voice of God....He's speaking sweet words of love, encouragement, grace and hope unto His own!  Let's be listening!!!

Luv, Hugs and Sweet Blessings!

Yes, there's nothing sweeter
than suddenly becoming aware
of His presence or hearing His
sweet voice. It's what sustains
and strengthens us.
Thanks for your encouraging
words.
Blessings,
Sandy

Thanks for popping in and your words of encouragement for my Marine Justin. means a lot!!!
I love your post. Yes God's voice is in so many things. And I think I hear it with my heart. When the birds are singing in the morning, I get SUCH joy listening...It is so early, dawn, and they are already toiling and SINGING!! That is God's voice to me...speaking...
so many little things like that. Thanks for the beautiful reminder and the poem... Hugs.

That the God of all the universe would bend low to speak to me... nearly sends me over the edge every time I hear the pulse of his heart, whether through creation's witness, the Bible, music, or in times of worship & prayer.

How I love being my Father's child!

Yes, I love the sweet voice of God - and the fact that we hear it everywhere..and anywhere - as long as we will listen. The poem is great but your photos with it are the best! Hope you are having a great week - and that you got that broken pipe taken care of easily. Bummer.

Oh I love 'hearing' God's voice - in the quiet of night, in nature, in the sounds of people around me, EVERYWHERE!

Hi Jackie,

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving your encouraging and kind message. Yes, I am indeed deeply blessed in my family - as well as my friends.

The photos you chose for this post are stunning; eye candy for the soul.

I see from your Bio that one of the things you love is hanging out at the Grand Canyon. So sad when the tourist bus gives people 5 minutes to see the "big hole." We rode mules down to the bottom one year and hiked down another. Incredible memories. Delighted to meet a kindred spirit.

Blessings,
Judith

Thank you, sweet friend - for visiting the bridge today to say that you were praying for me and my dad. I can't express the feeling that leaped within my heart when i read your spirit anointed words. I have to tell you that it brought tender tears to my eyes as I felt His wings hide me and wrap me in the shadow of His love. Thank you for hearing and obeying the voice of the Lord today. I am blessed for your faithfulness.

Thank you also for reminding me that ... When the future path looks dark, and my heart is filled with fear,It's then I hear Him gently say,"Be still and know I'm near."
