HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Hey Ya'll!!......HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I pray that each of you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to what God has in store for 2010!!!

I love New Years Eve......it always stirs my Spirit. When I was a little girl, my mom would take me to church on New Years Eve to what we called a "Watch Night Service". I remember the congregation kneeling at the alter and in the pews pouring their hearts out upon Jesus and seeking Him in a deeper heartfelt way. It was a time of true rededication, commitment and surrender of ones life to Jesus. We would linger in prayer and "watch" as the old past and the new began. The Presence of the Lord was always so real.

I rarely hear of such New Years Eve gatherings any more at least not in my neck of the woods. So, I guess I've just developed my own Watch Night Service. It seems my heart starts stirring early in the month of December and then really begins "watching" and listening to the Spirit of the Lord concerning the new year right after Christmas. It's like waiting patiently for Him to stir a Divinely ordered anticipation within my heart.......and He always does. Even as I'm typing this post I sense a longing for more of Him and an excitement of heart at what new directions and new things He has in store in 2010! PTL!

As I was flying home today from spending Christmas with my daughter I began to contemplate about "where" I am this last day of 2009 and the changes I need to make in 2010. There are many things on my personal list that I've committed to Him. But, the one that is stirring so greatly within my heart as I type this is to know Him more as my PRINCE OF PEACE!!! Peace - yes, the kind of peace that quiets everything within me and stills the storms that gather on the horizon. Peace that comforts to the core and lifts and restores......Only He can do that! He longs to pour greater portions of overflowing peace into our lives!

I find the definition of peace in Webster's very interesting.....
  • A state of tranquility or quiet
  • Freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts or emotions
  • Harmony in personal relations
  • "at peace" - a state of concord or tranquillity
Do any of these strike a cord within your heart? Wouldn't it be beyond wonderful to look back this time next year and have truly experienced His wonderful Peace. To have daily lived resting in Him and His promises in a state of tranquility and quiet, free from oppressive thoughts and overburdened emotions. To have lived in a place of peace with others and ministered His peace to those who are broken. I say, yes Lord!......send an outpouring of your peace upon my spirit, soul and body! As I spend precious moments with you, my Prince of Peace, may I be so yielded to your Spirit that I'm transformed into a vessel pouring your peace into the lives of others. To God be the Glory!

"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life"
Philippians 4:7 Message

And as I hear the city fireworks booming and announcing the arrival of the 2010 I pray the Prince of Peace, the God of all Comforts flood your heart with His Presence all throughout this new year!

HAPPY, PEACE-FILLED NEW YEAR!!!

Sweet Blessings!

Jackie, how wonderful to have your own Watch Night service. I think we should have that daily. It sure would raise our awareness. Out with the old in with the new each day.
I hope that your new year is blessed beyond measure.

"He longs to pour greater portions of overflowing peace into our lives!"

How marvelous to find such a good word here. It is a confirmation of what, I believe, the Lord has promised for the coming year; that, and joy.

Oh that we might all have more of Him, less of self. Yes ... and with Him the best of of His peace!

Blessings,
Kathleen

This was just a wonderful post and a great way to start off my New Years Day. And I am definitely with you. To experience God's peace, that peace that there is no describing or understanding of, is just what I'd like for 2010 as well. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and may God's abundant love and peace be yours in 2010, and may He bless you with His richest blessings, Debbie

I have to say the second definition of peace resonates in my spirit (you know why). Peace is a gift and I love the way you write about it this New Year! I receive it. Our family continues to pray for Katie. I'm so glad you were able to be with her for the holidays. Blessings and His favor to you this year, Jackie!

Peace!!!! Sweet Peace!!! The Lord is filling my heart with this much loved word "peace". I have been praying for you and your daughter. Your package will be in the mail tomorrow. I hope you enjoy the eye spa. Just pop it into the freezer for an hour or so. When you take it out place on your forehead. Magic!!! It is truly one of my favorite things.
Much love and peace to you in this new year.
