Hey ya'll...........I'll be brief and to the point. I would really appreciate your continued prayers for my mama. We received a call early this a.m. that she had a very bad fall and the paramedics were on their way to take her to the E.R. I rushed over there and the EMT met me before I was taken in to see her and told me that she had a very, very bad laceration on her leg.....he took a pictures of the "hunk" of flesh on the floor of her room and wanted to prepare me before I went in to see her. In a few words....it was the worst wound I've ever seen....gouged to the bone and a hole the size of your palm.....she lost alot of blood. They quickly took her to surgery because the "clock was ticking" on potential infection. Surgery was not successful....unable to close it because of it's depth and her skin too frail to hold stiches.....packed it, loaded her with antibiotics and will began specialized wound care tomorrow. The medical prognosis....6 to 8 weeks for the wound to heal and that's if no complications or infection. Not sure of her ability to walk using that leg after that.
Dr. concerned as to what caused the fall (stroke?)....she's been very disoriented lately but not sure if it was because of the pain med's she's on for the two compression fractures in her spine or something else going on....ran c-scan....showed possible infarction (stroke) or tumor on her brain. Ran MRI tonight...will get results tomorrow and go from there. Today's been a very rough day for her. However, true to her amazing ways, when she was lucid she had a bit of her humor and brought laughter to the nurses and doc's. As I've shared with you before....my mama's joyful outlook on life is amazing....it's a God thing! She's proved Him faithful over and over and over again in her 91 years!
I too would appreciate your prayers. I'm very weary tonight. To be honest with you...when I left the hospital a little while ago I began to feel a bit overwhelmed by what we're facing next. BUT, I know Who hold's my mama's next and He is always faithful to strengthen, comfort and impart wisdom and guidance particularly in season's of the unknown. I'm clinging to His promises, His hand and His faithfulness! He knows what's next!
I also want to say how much I appreciate your sweet comments, prayers and emails! I apologize for very little blog visits lately and look forward to catching up with my bloggy peeps sometime soon and reading what's been stirring in your heart......your ponderings always bless and encourage my heart so! So much going on with my mama's care over the last several months that just about everything else has been set aside. Please know that as the Holy Spirit brings you wonderful bloggy friends to mind, I lift you in prayer. I may not know where you are or exactly what you're growing through, BUT He does and I count it a privilege to stand with you!
Must get to bed now.......Back to the hospital early tomorrow!
Bless you again for your prayers!

Dearest Jackie, I find it a reminder of His call to prayer that I could not sleep so got up to check on email and blogs-yours is the first I've read. I am claiming His word over your momma, that by His stripes she is healed.
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid for He is with you.
Hugs and prayers, Noreen
Just wanted to let you know I'm praying and have shared your link on my Fearless Friday post sweet sister.
I will continue lifting you and your Momma in prayer! He's got your back!! Keep ahold of his hand!
One moment at a time sweet Jackie! He'll step you through. He's faithful!
Love,
Julie
aw Jackie, what a difficult time for you and your mom. I am praying right now for all of you, through tears. He will not leave you comfortless, whatever the "next" is. May the sweet healing balm of Jesus cover you today. Don't fret about being "behind" in blogland (I think many of us are!) ... We are your sisters in Christ and that makes us so much closer than if we could chat on a daily basis. The Lord is near...
I am praying right now for your sweet mama. I lift her up to the Lord for healing and that she will have no complications from her fall. I also lift up to the Lord you folks for the courage and peace needed to carry on while your mama is recuperating. I pray all of this in Jesus' name. Amen
Jackie ~~ Praying and will continue to do so for your Mom and for all of you.
In Christ's Love, Ella
Oh Jackie your poor Mama...I have prayed for her (and you) and I will continue to do so as the Holy Spirit brings this all to my mind. How wonderful that her strong and sweet spirit is evident even in the midst of this trouble. Standing with you, HUGS, Debbie
Oh Jackie....
My heart goes out to you. Please know the same Hand that you know is holding your Momma is holding you.
Praying that God will reach down and close that wound and prohibit any infection. That He will completely heal your Momma and the cause of the fall.
And Jackie, I pray also that you will all see God use your Momma and all of you to further His kingdom and deepen His relationships with you all through this time.
Praying!
Deb

Hi,Jackie:
You've been on my heart. I know this is a hard time seeing a loved one become so frail. Praying for your Mom, your family and you that God will strengthen your inner man. He is faithful. I understand that you can't visit bloggers right now; I, too, am in San Diego with my kids and it's hard to keep up the pace!
Just said a prayer for your mama and for you and your family. Hugs to you.... I can only imagine how difficult this must be for all of you.
Praying for you and your mama!

Praying, Jackie...for Mama, daughter, and family...He knows what each one needs most....
Sweet Sister,
I am so sorry to hear about your sweet mama's fall. She reminds me of my mom when she was still with us...always laughing instead of crying and complaining in spite of what she was going through.
My prayers are being said for your momma and for you dear friend. I know how weary one can get in the midst of all of this. The Lord is holding all of you in the palm of His hand and He will continue to take care of your momma, you and your family. Take deep breaths and rest in Him completely.
I love you.

Incredible wound! Wow! Makes me feel her pain.. God bless her and her witness through this time. And god bless you and your family as they carry you through this ordeal with mama too. She seems tobe a trooper! I pray God's healing touch on her - May He place a protective shield around the wound to seal it from infection! AMEN!
Hang in there.
